Walk of Hope 2016, Saturday 30th July
Saturday 30th July follows the very successful 2015 edition in which 1000 physically challenged people, school children and corporate organisations in Ghana took part in the walk. This year it is expected that about 1500 people would take part in the walking from Nungua Police Barrier to Trade Fair in La.
In addition to the Walk of Hope being a health walk, most importantly, it serves as an awareness campaign which highlights the challenges faced by the physically challenged in our society.
Given the large coverage the event will receive from the TV, Radio and Print media, we know that your cash or in kind contribution will go to further enhance the already positive corporate image of your company.
The Walk of Hope fits into the broader objectives of DESO which seeks to empower the physically challenged by supplying them with logistics equipment (wheelchairs, crutches, blind canes, etc.) as well as providing them with skills through training and education.
It is our intention to provide refreshment to about 1500 participants through our sponsors andto give them a talk by the Minister Chieftancy and Traditional Affairs (Hon. Dr. Danna) and Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection (Hon. Nane Oye Lithur).
